How the result is decided

  • PassThe HTML declares an icon, or /favicon.ico answers with a 2xx status.
  • FailNo icon is declared and /favicon.ico doesn’t exist.
  • Info/favicon.ico couldn’t be requested.

“Info” results don’t count toward the score.

Why it matters

Browsers show the favicon in tabs and bookmarks, and Google shows it next to your result on mobile. Without one the site looks unfinished.

How to fix it

Add to the <head>
<link rel="icon" href="/favicon.svg" type="image/svg+xml">

After the fix, open the page’s report and choose Run again to confirm it passes.
