Audits
How the audit score works
The 0–100 score is a weighted average of the checks: importance sets the weight, the result sets the credit.
Every check has an importance (high, medium or low) and a result. The score is the share of possible points the page earned, rounded to a whole number.
| Points | |
|---|---|
| High importance | weight 3 |
| Medium importance | weight 2 |
| Low importance | weight 1 |
| Pass | full credit |
| Warning | half credit |
| Fail | no credit |
| Info | not counted at all |
For example, a failing high-importance check costs three times as much as a failing low-importance one, and a warning costs half as much as a failure. “Info” results mean the check didn’t apply (no images, a page on plain HTTP for HSTS…), so they neither help nor hurt.
Each category score (SEO, security, performance and other) uses the same formula over that category’s checks only.
The score is a quick health signal for technical basics. It doesn’t predict rankings: a page can score 100 and still not rank for a competitive query.
