Performance check

HTTP requests

Counts the unique files the HTML references: scripts, stylesheets, preloads, icons, images, frames, video, audio and embeds. Files loaded later by JavaScript aren’t counted.

How the result is decided

  • Pass50 files or fewer.
  • Warning51–100 files.
  • FailMore than 100 files.

Why it matters

Every file is another request for the browser to make. Fewer, smaller files usually means a faster page.

How to fix it

Remove scripts and styles you don’t need, combine small ones, and lazy-load images below the fold.

After the fix, open the page’s report and choose Run again to confirm it passes.
