Search Console and the weekly list
Connecting Google Search Console
How to connect Google, pick properties as clients, and when Semhack imports and refreshes their data.
Semhack reads Search Console with read-only access. It can see clicks, impressions, CTR and position for the properties you pick, and it can never change anything in your Google account.
Connect and pick properties
- Choose Connect with Google on This week (shown until you have clients), or Connect a Google account in Settings, and sign in with the Google account that has access to your clients’ properties.
- Pick the properties to import. Each one becomes a client in Semhack. A domain property (
sc-domain:example.com) covers every subdomain and both http and https. - Semhack imports about 100 days of history. The client shows as importing until that’s done, then its actions appear on This week.
You can connect more than one Google account; each shows in Settings under Google accounts. To revoke access, remove Semhack at myaccount.google.com/permissions (opens in a new tab).
When data updates
- Every client syncs daily at 06:15 UTC. Each sync also fetches the two most recent days again, because Search Console revises them.
- Search Console data usually arrives with a delay of about 2–3 days, so “data through” in the sidebar is a few days behind today.
- After every import Semhack re-runs its rules, so new actions appear and ones that no longer apply close themselves.
Try it with the demo client
Not ready to connect? On This week, choose Add demo client. It adds a sample B2B SaaS site with generated Search Console data, so you can see the action list and a brief before connecting anything. It is clearly marked as a demo.
If Google connection isn’t switched on for your server yet, the connect buttons are replaced by a note, and the demo client is the way to explore.
