How the result is decided

  • Pass300 words or more.
  • WarningFewer than 300 words.

Why it matters

There is no magic word count, but very short pages often don’t answer the searcher’s question well enough to rank. Text that only appears after JavaScript runs isn’t counted.

How to fix it

Add useful text that answers what visitors come for, or merge thin pages into a stronger one. For pages that don’t need to rank (a login page, say) you can ignore this.

After the fix, open the page’s report and choose Run again to confirm it passes.

About audits

  • How the audit score worksThe 0–100 score is a weighted average of the checks: importance sets the weight, the result sets the credit.
